Practical Applications of Fuzzy Technologies pp Cite as. While psychologists have known for some time that people use categories with blurred edges and gradations of membership, the field has been slow to take up ideas from fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logic. This chapter reviews recent developments and the current state of fuzzy set theory and applications in psychology.
Real-Life Applications of Fuzzy Logic
The seminar provided a forum for discussing a broad spectrum of topics related to the theory of fuzzy sets, ranging from its mathematical aspects to applications in human cognition, communication, decision making, and engineering systems analysis. Comprised of 19 chapters, this book begins with an introduction to the calculus of fuzzy restrictions, followed by a discussion on fuzzy programs and their execution. Subsequent chapters focus on fuzzy relations, fuzzy graphs, and their applications to clustering analysis; risk and decision making in a fuzzy environment; fractionally fuzzy grammars and their application to pattern recognition; and applications of fuzzy sets in psychology. An approach to pattern recognition and associative memories using fuzzy logic is also described. This monograph will be of interest to students and practitioners in the fields of computer science, engineering, psychology, and applied mathematics. Joshi, Dheeraj K and Beg, Ismat and Kumar, Sanjay : Hesitant probabilistic fuzzy linguistic sets with applications in multi-criteria group decision making problems. Published in: Mathematics , Vol. Uncertainties due to randomness and fuzziness comprehensively exist in control and decision support system. In the present study, we introduce notion of occurring probability of possible values into hesitant fuzzy linguistic element HFLE and define hesitant probabilistic fuzzy linguistic set HPFLS for ill structured and complex decision making problem. HPFLS provides single framework where both stochastic and non-stochastic uncertainties can be efficiently handled along with hesitation. We have also proposed expected mean, variance, score and accuracy function and basic operations for HPFLS. Atanassov, K.
General Systems Theory postulates the existence of many general theories that serve to describe isomorphisms across systems. The theory of Fuzzy Sets can be considered as one particular general theory which describes the phenomenon of ambiguity across all systems displaying this property and its consequences. Fuzzy Set Theory is a mathematical development that holds great promise in becoming the metalanguage of ambiguity , in a way parallel to Statistics and Probability Theory which represent the metalanguage of uncertainty. Fuzzy Sets appear particularly well suited to model ambiguity in the context of the systems paradigm which has been offered as a counterpart to the traditional science paradigm. A decision model is used to discuss the differences between these two paradigms and to show the role which Fuzzy Sets can play in resolving some of the epistemological problems in the domain of the social sciences. Recently, bipolar fuzzy sets have been studied and applied a bit enthusiastically and a bit increasingly. In this paper we prove that bipolar fuzzy sets and [0,1] 2 -sets which have been deeply studied are actually cryptomorphic mathematical notions. We also give examples to show how to apply m -polar fuzzy sets in real world problems. Set theory and logic systems are strongly coupled in the development of modern logic.
I went to the door and looked out through the screen.
